After a brave battle against kidney failure, Jerzy Gruca died at the Hôpital de Hull on July 26, 2014, age 86. Jerzy will be dearly missed by his wife Irena; his daughter Alexandra (Doug) and grandchildren Chris and Alanna; Irena’s daughter Nina and her children Sam and Kaitlin, Irena’s sons Mark (Christian), and Peter (Connie) and their children Victor and Morgan; and many others including cherished friends Ewa (Jerzy’s first wife) and her husband Richard. Thanks to hospital staff, especially Dr. Verreault and nurses Emily and France for compassionate care.
