Condolences

Condolence From: David Pottinger
Condolence: My condolences to the entire family. I am one of those recorder students who in 1971 at age 5 fell under the magical spell of Elaine. She exposed me to the power of music for which I will be eternally grateful. This happended at First Aveneue Public School, then Hopewell PS in Ottawa. My mother always considered Elaine as my "second" mother due to her ability to channel my youthful energy into music, because I spent so much time at 43 Ossington, and because my mother let Elaine discipline me when necessary. To this very day (some 45 years later) I still consider myself a recorder player 1st, then a trumpet player. I owe Elaine so much and it hurts me to know that this chapter is closed. I'm positive there are thousands of kids out there who are much better off having crossed paths with her musical teachings - What a great woman indeed - and a sad day for us all. - David K Pottinger, Toronto, May 2016

Condolence From: Ruth Douglas
Condolence: I have fond memories of meeting your wife and mum at Mutchmore PS in the early 60s. She exuded energy and talent in many fields. We went on a bus trip to New York City together over an Easter weekend and she tried to do and see everything.

Her strong faith was a guiding light in her life. May each of you find comfort in God's love.

Condolence: Dear Bert & family: Rory & I wish to extend our sincere sympathy to you at this very sad time. What a wonderful person Elaine was. I so enjoyed our chats and sharing our music. She was so gifted and she loved to share her love of music with everybody. May she rest in peace, free this earthly pain and suffering that has taken over her body for these past few years. God bless you.
