Dear sister of Lola May Heard, June Lapointe and the late Ralph Logan. Step grandmother of Jordan, Benjamin and Patrick. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Avis was a lifetime member of the United Church of Canada and long time member of the Kanata Hazeldean Lions Club. Retired employee of First Air and a volunteer with the Ottawa Police Services. Proud wife of a Veteran and Mother of a military family.
Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 150 Woodroffe Ave (at Richmond Rd.) on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in Glen Cairn United Church (140 Abbeyhill Dr) on Thursday August 28 at 2:00 pm. Interment to be held in the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood. Donations in memory of Avis to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
