Obituary for Ethel Gertrude Graham (Collins)

Ethel Gertrude Graham (Collins)
Graham, Ethel Gertrude (Collins)
Peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by her family on October 26, 2014 at the Longfield’s Manor. A long time resident of Thunder Bay who trained as a registered nurse at St.Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at both the Fort William Sanitorium and the Walter P Hogarth Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St Paul’s Anglican Church and the Thunder Bay Soroptimists. She was predeceased by her husband William, parents Daniel and Gertrude (Amos) Collins and brother Richard Collins. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Shane) Irvine, Mineville NS, son Donald (Chris) Graham, sister Nora Nelson, grandchildren Melissa Schroeder, Derek Schroeder (Jessica Bassett), Kelsey (Matt) Regnier and great grandson Keegan Schroeder all of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life held in Thunder Bay at Sargent and Son Funeral Home with internment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. A reception for family and friends in Ottawa is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. We wish to express our appreciation to all the staff of Longfield’s Manor for the excellent care that Mom received while under their care. We are blessed that she was surrounded by such loving and compassionate people.
