Obituary for Jennifer Leah Walker (Walker)

WALKER, Jennifer Leah (Jenni)

Jennifer Leah (Jenni) Walker passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital on October 28th at the age of 51. Jenni is lovingly remembered by her husband, Glenn, her brother, Stephen, her sister-in-law, Tambrae, and her adored nieces India and Isobel. She is predeceased by her proud father, Ronald Walker, and will be greatly missed by her loving mother, Jean Walker and her husband Ken Harry, as well as her brother Jason and his family, Robyn Walker, her extended family, and a great many friends. Jenni was born in Sault Ste. Marie, and remained devoted to her "Soo" roots all of her life. A longtime resident of Ottawa, she loved history, especially the history of our country, and was very proud to have worked in museums including the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Canadian Museum of Nature, and as curator of the North American Carnival Museum and Archives. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Byron) Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. All are also invited to join the family at a service to be held Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2pm at Boyd's United Church at the corner of Ferguson Falls Road and Boyd's Road in Lanark County. Donations in memory of Jenni would be welcome to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the North American Carnival Museum.
