Condolence: Dear Graham, Alex and Zachary - We were deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Bethany's sudden passing. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your families at this tragic time. We knew Bethany through Skate Canada and I had the privilege of attending several workshops and seminars with her during her short time with us. Her brilliant mind, contagious energy, and fun loving personality made her a beautifully engaging person to work with. I know that Skate Canada will miss her terribly. Our hearts go out to you and hope you can find strength in each other as you rally around each other in the days to come.

Condolence: I have written this so many times... It is so difficult to find the right words... Bethany was truly inspirational and every life she touched will remember her vibrant smile and incredible energy and passion for life... Nothing was out of reach for her and she believed that everyone should live life to its fullest, enjoy everything and do not let anyone tell you that it cannot be done, because it can be done... Your legacy will not be forgotten... I will never forget what I have learned from you and your awesomeness... Our sincere condolences to Graham, Alex, Zachary and your entire family. You are always in our hearts...

Condolence From: Marc, Sheryl, and Kyle van Kralingen
Condolence: To Graham, Alex, and Zachary: We are so sorry for your loss. Whenever Bethany spoke of you her face would light up... she loved you all so much. Bethany inspired me in Scouting. She was so very good as a Beaver leader and a role model. Despite her busy schedule she would arrive with the most well thought out and fun plans (and she usually had a laugh-out loud kind of story to share with us leaders before the night started). Reading her many tributes this week I was not surprised to learn that Bethany impacted people this way in other aspects of her life. All our lives are better for having known her.

Condolence: I am distraught at this news and offer heartfelt sympathy to the family. Bethany was one of the key players in raising the national initiative of the Canadian Knowledge Research Network from its origins, and did so not only through her tremendous skills and determination but by the positive influence of the person she was. She was a person who attracted admiration for her effectiveness as a team player and her genuine warmth as a personal friend. No one could be more missed; however she has had an impact that no one will forget.

Condolence From: Deb deBruijn
Condolence: Dear Graham, Alex & Zachary, Lois & Douglas -- The pain and sorrow of losing Bethany is so deep, and unspeakable. I can't even begin to describe the impact she had through her work with the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, and the indelible mark that her work left on university libraries, students and researchers all across Canada. But more than this, it is the personal impact she had on me and on all her colleagues that I honour. I hired Bethany shortly after she completed her MBA, and I'll never forget in the interview she said that she doubted there was anything that the job might throw at her that she would not be able to handle. And she was right! Bethany could tackle anything, learn anything, build anything, and bring the rest of the community along with her. I cherished Bethany's energy, her zest, her appetite for new ideas, her courage, her laughter, her passion for things that matter, her relentless drive to make a difference, her integrity, and her deep love for her family. She was a friend, a confidante, a fellow mom and traveller, an inspiration, a life-saver. I'll never forget her, and please know that I hold you close in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Bethany was a bright star who lit up her world. Compassionate, generous and fearless, Bethany lent her support and her many talents to so many different things. I met her while working at CRKN, and valued the opportunity to collaborate with her over several years on different projects with such enthusiasm. Nothing was ever done in half measure with Bethany. She had such empathy with people - listening to understand a setback, and suggesting a solution to set things right. Bethany was at once a mentor and on a quest to learn. She was a wonderful and loyal friend – a bright star that was extinguished far too soon. We’re better for having known her. Heartfelt condolences to her family.

Condolence From: Tracey MacDougall
Condolence: Jesus said: Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me (John 14:1-6). Lord, we thank you for Bethany's life. How precious she has been to each of those who knew her. Everything that is good and fine and true about her was a gift from You and a reflection of Your glory. Thank you for allowing her to be part of our lives and for touching each person in her own very special way. We commit her to Your care and keeping. May Your loving arms embrace her and Your loving heart welcome her. With a loss so difficult and painful, sometimes the only solace is knowing that her soul and spirit live on perpetually. This Earthly life, in the physical body, is brief. I did not know Bethany very well. I knew her through the 23rd Nepean Group Committee. She always had a beautiful smile, a positive attitude and she radiated Goodness. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones during this very difficult time.
