Obituary for James Bruce Henderson

James Bruce Henderson
Unexpectedly, at his home in Ottawa. Bruce Henderson at age 65. Beloved son of Gladys (Burnside) and the late Gordon Henderson. Dear brother of Don (Cecile), their children and grandchildren and sister Holly (Gerry). Soulmate of Audrey. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends. Bruce grew up in Shawinigan and St. Lambert, QC. He attended Bishop’s, Acadia, Mount Allison and Queen’s University, where he finished his MSc. Bruce was a hiker, poet, traveler and a lifelong learner. Learning new things was Bruce’s great delight: singing with the Atlantic Voices, playing bridge, walking on his hands, cooking. He combined two great interests as Poet Laureate of the Rideau Trail. Bruce was well known for his unique sense of humour. He worked at the Royal Ottawa Hospital for 15 years.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond) on Saturday, May 30th at 5 p.m. In Memoriam donations to Trinity United Church or to the Rideau Trail Association appreciated.
