HEWITT, ADRIAN THOMAS, Q.C.

Beloved husband of Patricia (nee McGough), dear father of Thomas (Trish), Paul (Constance), Anne (Forrest Johnson) and Michael (Veda) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015. He was the loving and proud grandfather of Paul and Christina, Siobhan and Jenna, Taylor, Katie, Emma and Meg, and Palmer and Declan.

Fondly remembered by his brother Paul; predeceased by his sister Audrey.

Practicing lawyer for 67 years, Queen’s Counsel 1960, co-founder of Hewitt and Hewitt, Barristers and Solicitors in 1961, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Past-President of Ottawa Crime Stoppers.

Knights Commander of the Order of St Gregory the Great and friend to many clergy of the Roman Catholic Church.

Director of Riverside Hospital, Chairman of the Board of Governors of St. Vincent Hospital, Founder of St. Thomas More Catholic High School, Founding President of the St. Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild, Past-President of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club and the Laurentian Club.

Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, from 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St.Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 95 Somerset Street West, Ottawa at 11:00 am on Monday, August 3, 2015. Reception at church immediately following. Private burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa.
