Condolence: To my dear nephews Duncan and Alasdair, partners Ananda and Elizabeth and grandchildren Bodhi and Rohan, Calum and Mairi our deepest condolences. We are so sorry for your loss of a cherished father and proud grandpa. Allan's great wit, storytelling and love of music was all for the love of family and friends. In Allan's time of need, so many came to his bedside to comfort him or sent messages of hope and love. He said, "I'm overwhelmed with love" in my last visit with him. My brother Allan passed knowing he was well loved and was held by his beautiful sons. He will rest in peace. With love, Deb and May (Vancouver)

Condolence From: Aunt Teresa, Rose, Norman, David, Stephen, Laurel Jeffrey and Scott and Famillies.
Condolence: Dearest Duncan, Alasdair and families, Please accept our deepest sympathy as we share in your loss. Allan was a very special part of our family. He had a unique gift of keeping us connected to our roots and our heritage and had and integral part in keeping Cape Breton alive in our our souls. He was never without an interesting story or a comical analogy about our ancestry; only he could rhyme of the names of John Angus John Archie Jim Sandy with such ease and figure we would know exactly who he was. These stories will remain in our hearts and minds forever. He will now sit amongst our ancestors and share his stories. May his soul rest in peace.

Duncan and Alasdair, I hope you know how much he loved you and how very proud he was of both of you. I witnessed first hand the kindness, love and care you gave to your Dad in his last weeks and because of that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. My dear Brother Allan, the Clans have gathered to take you home, you will have plenty of catching up to do with the Ancestors. We will play hide and seek again someday but until then, run free and barefoot over your hills and your glens. Rest in Peace. Love forever, Barb and Vic (Langley, BC)

Condolence From: Dan MacDonald
Condolence: Saddened to hear of Allan's passing. He was a man that I got to know well over the years, through his love for (and expertise with) Celtic music. It didn't hurt that we both had a deep connection to Creignish. He was proud of his heritage and prouder still of his children and their accomplishments. He also was a great source of information on historic and genealogical questions. Allan will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his many friends. Dan MacDonald Sydney (and Creignish)
