Bruce Barr  Gibbons
Bruce Gibbons, of Kemptville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26th at the Ottawa General Hospital.

Bruce is preceded in death by his father Reginald Barr, mother Helen Claire and sister Kimberly Claire. He is survived by his loving wife Lillian, his beautiful daughters Nicole (and Edward) Mueller and Jaime Gibbons, and adorable grandchildren Anna, Holly and Emmett. His sisters Wendy (Steve) and Kelly (Paul), brother-in-law David and his many nieces and nephews.

Bruce Barr Gibbons was born in Winnipeg to Reginald and Helen Gibbons. He married Lillian in 1973 in Winnipeg, MB. He worked for Tip Top Tailors for 40 years and enjoyed a short retirement. Bruce’s passion was his Golden Retrievers. He took great pride as a breeder through his kennel, Rideauview Goldens. Bruce was a CKC & AKC Obedience & Rally Trial Judge. He was extremely proud of the results and accomplishments of his Golden Retrievers obtaining the title of Top Obedience Dog in Canada; Rebel in 1995, Austin in 2001 and Bright in 2013. The pinnacle of his obedience career was competing with Bright at The Crufts Obedience World Cup (2013) in Birmingham, England.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations be made to Myeloma Canada. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors in the ICU and his medical team in the Hematology Department at the Ottawa General Hospital.

Cremation has already occurred and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
