Obituary for Helen Mary Eastop (Stackpole)

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 after a long battle, Helen Eastop (nee Stackpole) of Ottawa, passed away at Elisabeth Bruyère in her 73rd year. Predeceased by her parents Ambrose and Ella Stackpole (nee McNeely) of Manotick, her sister Doreen Chartrand of Vancouver and her husband Ted Eastop of Ottawa. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Joy and grand-dog Kadan, her cousins Mary Ruest (Ed) and Don McKenna (Jean), sisters-in-law Pat Grierson (Dave), Jean Prebble (Ron Graham), Debbie Eastop and brother-in-law Brian Eastop (Donna), her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, along with all of the many dear friends she has made at Rideau Perley, Valley Stream, Elisabeth Bruyère Rehab Unit, Stittsville Manor and St. Vincent’s Hospital. Many thanks for the care and compassion of Dr. Jean Chouinard and his team at St. Vincent’s Hospital, the ICU team at Civic Hospital (Dr. Skinner, Dr. Lanouvelle, Dr. Pagliarello) and the Palliative Care team at Elisabeth Bruyère (Dr. Bush). We will miss her wisdom, guidance, laughter and feisty spirit. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. (at O’Connor), Ottawa on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Service in the Chapel at 2:00p.m. A Reception will follow the Service. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
