Passed away peacefully at the Perley & Rideau Veteran's Health Center at age 95 on October 19th, 2016. Isabella, known to family and friends as Elma or Bunny, was a graduate of Glebe Collegiate in Ottawa. She went on to work for the Dept. of National Defense, the Red Cross and the Canadian Women’s Army Corps working with the Canadian Prisoners of War in Enemy Hands Unit. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Kennedy and Elizabeth Kennedy/Ogilvy, step- father Charles Ogilvy, husband William George Metcalfe and son William Lawrence Metcalfe. Left to cherish her memory are her son Eric Metcalfe, daughter Patricia Healey, grandsons Tori Hoehler and Sean Metcalfe, granddaughter Kirsten Karns and three great-grandsons, Alex and Bryce Karns and Ryan Hoehler. She will be remembered most for her unfailing love for her family and for her wry and clever sense of humor and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Perley Rideau for their compassionate care and support. A private ceremony will be held at a later date at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Perley & Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre would be appreciated.
