My heartfelt condolences to all family members of Marcel. I first met Marcel when he was our Member of Parliament. He always attended our events at Jarry Park. What impressed me most was the interest he took to speak to us (13 - 18 year old, and to encourage us. Our paths crossed again when Hagop Hagopian arranged for us to meet when I was a candidate for municipal councillor in Park Extension in 1998. His continued love for his past constituents and cultural communities was genuine and ongoing. For the last 18 years Marcel has been a close friend, a mentor, and a role model. Marcel was an exceptional human being, caring and genuinely interested in our exchanges. I will miss our conversations and the company. May he rest in peace and watch over us. Au revoir my friend, heartfelt regards to our friend Hagop when you meet.
