Obituary for Jean Chapman

Jean Chapman
1932- 2019

Peacefully at the Dundas Manor in Winchester, Ontario, Jean Chapman passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 in her 87th year. She leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-six years, Cyril Chapman of Winchester, and daughter Nancy Chapman of Chesterville, Ont. Dear sister of Grant Jessup (late Pat) and the late Joan Kerr (late Ken) and sister-in-law of the late Grace Davies (late Tom). Her lovely smiling face will be fondly remembered and missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jean graduated from the High School of Commerce and went to work for Leonard C. Thomas, Q.C. as a legal secretary. She spent her working life with the firm, following it through its several incarnations.
Jean & Cyril were longtime active members of the church and choir at the former Wesley United Church in Ottawa East. Jean belonged to the UCW ladies group who baked and served many delicious home cooked meals and squares at so many church receptions and bazaars there. After Wesley Church closed they joined Emmanuel United Church in Alta Vista where they met new friends.
Jean enjoyed dancing and was, for several years, a member of the Ardbrae Scottish Country Dance Society. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dundas Manor for their exceptional care and support.

Friends are invited to the Central Chapel of the Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Tuesday April 2, 2019 from 9:30-11am with a service to follow in the chapel at 11am.

The family would like to invite guests to join them for a reception afterwards. Interment will be at Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
