Gayla passed away in the Ottawa General Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer. Gayla was born and raised in the Ottawa area. She was the only child of James Moffatt and Mary(Nussey) of Ottawa. She left Ottawa, for the Brockville region, in the early years following her graduation from teachers college, where she followed her passion of working with children by teaching at the primary grade levels. She had a great gift of being able to teach children and this is what she spent most of her life doing professionally, at home and through church programs. She and Ron settled in the Ottawa area after marrying in 1983 and there started and raised their family. She leaves behind her husband Ron after 35 years of marriage and her sons Brent of Ottawa and Dale (Amanda) of the Cornwall area. She poured her life into her sons and loved them both dearly. She is and will be greatly missed by Ron, Brent, Dale and her extended family having lived far too short a life. Donations in lieu of flowers are First Place Options and Empower Ministries.
