Sarah Bennett Deavy of the Colonel By Retirement Residence, passed away peacefully in her 96th year. Sarah was born in Killwining, Scotland in 1922, and, after moving to Ottawa, spent most of her life in the Glebe. Dear daughter of the late John and Jean Wilson (nee Bennett). Predeceased by her loved husband, Stewart Deavy, and by her only brother and best friend, James (Jim) Wilson, missing in action in 1942. Dearly loved by cousins James Smith (Barbara) and Sarah Lindsay (UK), and extended family that included Rob Carr (Lois), Kriztina Nagy (Rudy), and Ted Mann (Robert). Sarah’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff that helped Sarah and showed her kindness at Colonel By Retirement Residence. Many thanks also to Sarah’s friend and ours, Margaret Markell (Ricky), who was there to give Sarah love and support when we could not be there with her. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 10:30am until time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11am.
