Obituary for Rita Rosemary Forestell (Morris)

Passed peacefully on Friday, 01 February 2019, at age 89. Beloved wife of the late James (Jim) Forestell, proud mother of David (Marielle), Yvonne (Randy) Hanson and Bernard (Alison). Loving Granny to Daniel (Rebecca), Kathleen (David), Ian and Christiane (Matt) Forestell; Nicholas (Melissa), Alexander (Anapaula) and Chantal (Dusty) Hanson; Geneva (Jeff), Haley (Steven), and Emily Forestell. Great grandmother of Abigail, Lilyanne, Benjamin, and Arielle. Born in Ottawa, Rita was the last surviving sibling of her eight brothers and sisters (Victor, Jacqueline, Claude, Norma, Terry, Mary, Brian and Gertrude), and daughter to Raymond and Florida (née LeBlanc) Morris. Rita will also be missed by her extended family and friends. The family would like to extend a special word of gratitude to all the people at Carlingview Manor who loved and cared for our mother. We will always be grateful to the kind staff, especially on the third floor: Amy, Anab, Bibich, Charlotte, Eugene, Ida, Julianna, Maria, Marilyn, Maureen, Mimi, Nicki, Rose, Winsome, Dr. Rose, and everyone we may have forgotten. You made our mother’s time in her declining years very happy ones, and we are positive she looks down on you with the love she has for her own family. Thank you all. There will be no immediate formal function; however, there will be a memorial service and interment of both Rita and Jim’s remains on what would have been their 64th wedding anniversary, 16 July 2019. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, 20 Eglinton Avenue West,16th Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4R 1K8 or https://alzheimer.ca/en/on. In Rita’s / Mom’s / Granny’s memory we invite you to do what Rita did so well and so often: look someone you love right in the eye and say “You’re so beautiful,” or “You’re so handsome.” And then, make them laugh.
