1951 -2018
Suddenly at home of natural causes on December 30, 2018. He leaves his beloved wife Moira, mother Ruth, sisters Fran (Dave Dickinson) and Jane (Robert Mertens), brother Geoff (Kim Mozil), and niece Hannah. Predeceased by his father, Albert Johnson. He also leaves an extended family including sister-in-law Roanne (Hani Mokhtar), brother-in-law Roger, nephew Sharif (Sara) and great-nephew Jagger. Andy was a renaissance man with keen interests in music, art, politics and good food. He had a passion for things Tuscan and Italian and with Moira, was a part-time resident of Pienza where mornings were spent at the bar-café on the renaissance piazza-heart of the town or anytime overlooking the Val d’Orcia from their terrace. Before retiring, Andy was a senior policy advisor in the Canadian government and spent a number of years in Paris working in a similar role with the OECD. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. (at O’Connor) on Friday, January 11 from 1:30pm until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3pm.
