Suzanne Lessard-Wynes, devoted daughter of the late Gilles Lessard (Renée Piché) and the late Jeannine Lessard, passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on Sunday, April 21, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey, siblings Michel (Anne), Denis ( Lynne ), Monique and Lyne, brother-in-law David, nephews Mathieu (Natasha), Cédric Daniel and Nicholas, nieces Chléo, Janelle and Mylène and close longtime friends Cindy and Annette. She began her career as a personal health support worker, setting the tone for her lifework as a caring, selfless devoted person. She was a valued employee for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, a treasured and a popular addition to the financial team of Ottawa Community Housing. She was also an advocate for worker’s rights and became a union representative. In her spare time she was also on the board of the Ottawa Folk Festival, having served twenty years as a founding member. She touched and inspired everyone she met, and her laughter and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew hear.
Live, Love, Laugh
The family will host a celebration of life on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at 555 Brittany Drive, Ottawa in the reception hall on floor B1. Interment will take place in Chelmsford, Ontario at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
