Obituary for William David Griffith Levy

William David Griffith Levy
It is with unspeakable sorrow that we share the news that our son, William David Griffith Levy died unexpectedly last week, having battled anxiety and depression for several years.

William was a beautiful, complex, deep thinking, intelligent and funny artist. He was a talented writer and poet, who brought imagination and a new perspective to anyone that read his work. A lover of all creatures great and small, he had a tremendous empathy for the vulnerable and the voiceless in our society. William was a proud graduate of Canterbury High School, and was blessed with many beloved friends and memories from his years there. He brought light, love and leadership during his time at Canterbury and into the relationships he built while he was in the literary program. He later studied at Carleton University. He was a very much loved member of his immediate and extended family.

William was the beloved son of Wendy-Anne Jones and the late Robert Levy, and stepson of Sandy Graham. He leaves behind his cherished sister Jaya and his stepbrother Mackenzie and step sister in-law, Samantha. He will be greatly mourned by his grandmother, his aunts, uncles and cousins and their partners and many friends.

A Celebration of William’s life will take place in 2019. Details will be posted at a later date on this web-site

Should you wish to make a donation in memory of William, we would respectfully suggest the Ottawa Humane Society, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto) or a charity of your choice.

Godspeed, beloved and much loved, William.
