Obituary for Donald Godfrey Munro

Don died at Saint-Vincent Hospital after a long fight with brain cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Wallene (nee Michel), his two daughters, Stacey (Jake Duret), and Tani (Lawrence Bousquet), his three grandchildren, Greg, Briana and James, his sister, Marilyn Munro of Arnprior, and the two remaining cats, Calli and Blackie who have been missing him since June. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Munro, and his mother, Mary Godfrey Munro. Don, as everyone will remember, was interested in everything: history, especially war, science, mathematics, and biographies. Reading was a love and passion: two daily newspapers, magazines and books. His love of reading has been passed down to our daughters. Memorial reception will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond) on Sunday, March 1st from 2 - 4 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Saint- Vincent Hospital, 43 Bruyère Street, Ottawa ON K1N 5C8 and the Ottawa Humane Society, 245 West Hunt Club Road, Ottawa ON K2E 1A6.
