Suzanne Shirreff (née Lanthier)
1953-2019
A light went out in the window of our home last week, plunging our family into darkness.
Suzanne Shirreff slipped away from this world on April 13th 2019 as she slept in her warm and beautiful house. She was 65, in the middle of an active, meaningful and loving retirement.
Suzanne was the beloved spouse of the late Robert Geoffrey (Geoff) Shirreff and the daughter of the late Paul-Émile Lanthier and Simone Lanthier (Ranger). She is survived by her cherished daughter Candice (Sven Baltare) and grandchildren Ewan and Weston.
She is also survived by her sisters Carole (Richard Martineau), Agathe (Jean-Paul Lavigne), Aline (Roch Lefebvre), Jocelyne (Dennis Ducommun), Johanne (Vincent D’Aoust), Michèle (Jean Grégoire), and her brothers: Jacques (Denise), Yves, Gilles (Linda Saumier) and Paul (Ginette).
She also leaves behind her mother-in-law Georgina, and Geoff’s two brothers: George (Hélène), John and her nephew Harrison. There are also many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends that will miss her terribly. Family times will never be the same without her.
Visitation will be held at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry – West Chapel, 150 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario on Thursday April 18 th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday April 19 th at 1:00 p.m.
Flowers were special to Sue. With planting season beginning shortly, please consider donations to the Ottawa Botanical Garden Society or other favourite garden charity.

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Suzanne Shirreff, décédée subitement à son domicile, le 13 avril 2019 à l’âge de 65 ans.
Elle était l’épouse bien-aimée de feu Robert Geoffrey (Geoff) Shirreff, la fille de feu Paul-Emile Lanthier et de feu Simone Lanthier (Ranger). Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille adorée, Candice (Sven Baltare) et ses deux petits-fils qu’elle aimait tant : Ewan et Weston.
Elle laisse ses sœurs et frères : Carole (Richard Martineau), Agathe (Jean-Paul Lavigne), Aline (Roch Lefebvre), Jocelyne (Dennis Ducommun), Johanne (Vincent D’Aoust), Michèle (Jean Grégoire), ses frères : Jacques (Denise), Yves, Gilles (Linda Saumier) et Paul (Ginette).
Elle laisse sa belle-mère Georgina, les 2 frères de Geoff : George (Hélène), John et son neveu, Harrison, plusieurs oncles, tantes, cousins et cousines, neveux et nièces, et amis.
Les heures de visite à la Maison funéraire Hulse, Playfair et McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. Ottawa, Ont. seront jeudi le 18 avril de 14 à 16 heures et 19 à 21 heures. Une cérémonie sera célébrée, vendredi le 19 avril à 13 heures.
Suzanne était passionnée de jardinage, des dons sont suggérés à l’organisme Ottawa Botanical Garden Society, ou autres organismes de votre choix.
