Obituary for Brian Moses Kavanagh

KAVANAGH, Brian Moses

It is with heavy hearts that the Kavanagh family announces the sudden passing of Brian on May 13, 2021.

Brian was born in Brockville, Ontario on October 8th, 1958 to Mary (Holley) and Maurice Kavanagh (predeceased).

Brian grew up on a dairy farm on Kilkenney Road just outside of the village of Lyn and graduated from Thousand Islands Secondary School in Brockville and St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Brian recently retired from Algonquin College in Ottawa after 33 years of devoted service as an Instrumentation Technician. Prior to working at Algonquin College, Brian worked as an Instrumentation Technician for Stelco in Hamilton and Domtar in Cornwall.

Brian is dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his brothers Michael (Carole Beauchamp) of Kingston, James (Carolyn Mitton) of Halifax, Dennis (Jackie Gough) of Barrie, Kevin (Cathy Riddell) of Ottawa and Stephen (Kathleen McVety) of Kingston, and his sisters, Anne Marie (Vic DeBruyn) of Calgary and Sharon (Doug Harrison) of Brockville. Brian was an adored uncle to Peter (Penney), Chris (Kate), Curtis (Kayley), Ryan, Micaela (Rocky), Erin (Derian), Liza and Joe and great uncle to Brooks.

Brian loved the outdoors and spending time hunting and fishing with his brothers and close friends. He was central to family celebrations, whether it be raucous gift exchanges or playing his favourite game, charades, cheered on by his nieces and nephews.
