Memories of Alex at work

Alex and I crossed paths many times in our time with the federal government in Moncton and Ottawa. He had a keen, analytical mind and I looked up to him in our days in Regional Development in Moncton. I also remember your amazing gardens overlooking the Peticodiac River. As fate would have it, I ended up working with Alex again in the Fisheries Division of Industry Canada in Ottawa. He was a keen international marketing analyst at a time when Canada was the largest exporter of seafood products in the world. I managed to persuade Alex to join me in the Commercial Analysis section of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans where he was again recognized as a balanced voice of knowledge and reason. He went on to become our expert in barter arrangements with countries like Russia where his ability in languages gave us a sense awe and confidence. In all of these roles, Alex warmth and kindness, especially in regards to Suzanna and his family, shone clearly through for all to see. Alex, you will be missed.
