Anna passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bayfield Manor on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Anna in her 90th year was the beloved wife of the late Mathias Kirchmeier. Loving mother of Anna Maya Gsell (Gary Hines), Elizabeth Forbes (Alan), Anita Vermilyea (Blair), Marty (Mathias) Kirchmeier (Karen). Special Grossi to Kristina Forbes, Karl Forbes (Erin), Michael Gsell, Jochan Gsell, Laine Laurin (Denis), Colin Vermilyea (Emma), Dana Kirchmeier (Billy McRoberts) , Scott Kirchmeier (Aly). Great grandmother to Ryan McCurdy, Taylor Havenaar (Devon), Pryce Bush, Alex Forbes, Nikko Forbes, Vivian Laurin, Jed Laurin, Bo Vermilyea, VanMeier Vermilyea, Karson McRoberts, Harrison McRoberts, Kylie KIrchmeier, Kaleb Kirchmeier. Great great grandmother to Maverick Havenaar.

Born in Switzerland, she came to Canada in 1960 with her husband and 4 small children to settle on a farm near Hallville. While working side by side with her husband on the farm, she also did alterations and invisible mending for clients. Once the children were older she followed her passion as a trained Swiss chef and worked at the Kemptville Hotel and had the pleasure of meeting entertainers like Stomping Tom. Once comfortable with the English language, she got a job in the Parliamentary Dining room where she met a number of politicians and received a personal Christmas card from Pierre Trudeau for years. After retiring, Anna and her husband moved to Merrickville and spent many years entertaining friends and family.

There will be no visitation at this time. The immediate family will be getting together.

The family of Anna Kirchmeier would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Bayfield Manor. Each and every one of them went above and beyond to give their Mom the care she needed during these difficult times. Donations to The Kemptville District Hospital Foundation are gratefully accepted.
