Obituary for Brian Charles Fleck

After a strong and brave six-year battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family, Brian Charles Gordon Fleck was received into eternal life on the evening of Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the age of 63. Cherished husband to Maurina (née Rose). Loving father to Andrew, Jordon (Paula), Alyssa (David P. and Olivia). Devoted and proud Ockey to Emma, Quinn, and Oliver. Survived by his mother Captain Elizabeth (Betty) Ann and predeceased by his father Gordon. Beloved brother to Dale (Debbie), Deborah (Bill), and Kevin (Shirley). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and his family in Nova Scotia.

Brian loved to serve his family, his community, and his church. He was an active member of Annunciation of the Lord Parish where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Everyone will remember Brian’s cooking. Formally trained as a banquet chef at St. Clair College, no one could cook for a crowd like Brian! Being deeply passionate about sports, Brian coached his children, convened the GCBA Basketball League and was an avid fan of the Ottawa Senators, 67’s and REDBLACKS. His Super Bowl and Grey Cup parties were legendary; even daddy daughter date nights usually involved going to a game! With over 20 years in car sales, Brian was proud to have helped many individuals and families find safe and affordable transportation. But Brian was most proud of his three children and his grandchildren and cherished every minute he spent with them and with the love of his life, Maurina.

Family and friends visited at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St., (at O'Connor) on Monday, December 27 between 1:30-3:00pm and 6:30-8:30pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Annunciation of The Lord Parish, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 11:00am.
