Obituary for Brian Burton Gainsford (Gainsford)

BRIAN GAINSFORD
1938-2022

Brian “Pa” Gainsford earned his wings on June 20, 2022 on the land that he loved, the Gainsford Farm.
Beloved husband of the late Violet Anderson. Caring brother to Lola (the late Howard O. Brown).
Brother in law to Lucette (Dennis Anderson).
Brian was born on August 5, 1938 in Low, Quebec. He was a force of nature, determined to provide for
his family and proud of all their accomplishments. He was a man of the land, a mechanic, a business
man, but most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Adventure was his middle name
from working out west when he was young to meeting his beloved wife Vy in the mines at Rouyn
Noranda, serving his community of Gracefield as a fire fighter for 45 years.
Life happens and he made it happen full filling everyday with some kind of achievement. He loved to
laugh, had a great sense of humor and a never ending sense of curiosity. Bursting with pride of his most
recent participation in a thrashing mill Guinness World Record event in 2019.
His beautiful life will always be cherished by his children, Cindy (the late Richard Rusenstrom), Lionel
(Jeanne Chantigny), Susie (Glenn MacDonald), and Michael (Joanne Froome). Fond memories are held
by his grandchildren Kenn (Ayla), Karl, Sarah (Jean Francois), Ryan, and Kelsey (Christophe) and his great
grandchildren Leah and Ludovyck. Brian will be deeply missed by his family, friends and his Tuxedo cat
Tuck. Uncle to Mark (Frantzie) and Robert.
Brian was a large part of the community and his presence will be missed. He was happiest when sharing
a drink and a story with whomever stopped by.
Celebration of his life was with his family as per his wishes. His ashes will be interred at the Hillcrest
Cemetery at a later date. If you would like to honor Brian’s life please make a donation in his name to
the charity of your choice.
