Obituary for Carl Theodore "Ted" Reiser

1922-2021
WWII Veteran

Ted Reiser passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 in his 99th year. He is survived by his son Gregory (Dianne) and daughter Susan (Ron), granddaughters Renae (Travis) and Nikki (Chad), and great-grandchildren Kyley and Rowan. He is predeceased by his loving wife Ruth and beloved daughter Glenda. Ted joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and flew the Liberator in WWII where he successfully completed 33 missions. Following WWII, he attained his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of British Columbia as well as two Masters degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan. He spent his career in the military working mainly on armament projects and guidance systems, including the Avro Arrow, then as a civil servant with Department of National Defence providing military support to the 1976 Olympics and various other summer games. A proud, kind and loving man, Ted will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbours. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre Foundation or charity of your choice. A private family service will be held in the near future.
