Colleen Ann Meloche
We so hoped this day would never come. For nearly two decades, Colleen battled multiple types of cancer and chronic diseases before succumbing to leukemia. She surpassed every expectation and prognoses until the very end. She inspires all who knew her to enjoy life and live it to its fullest. She is pre-deceased by the two great loves of her life, Jean-Louis Meloche and Geoff Harris. She leaves behind her twin children, Jaclyn and James (Denise), and twin grandchildren, Josephine and Elise. She was a brilliant mother and grandmother who constantly provided all of life’s essentials including safety, security, reassurance and unconditional love. Her sisters and brother, nieces and nephews and so many wonderful friends, will lovingly remember her sense of humour, generosity, wisdom and joie de vivre. We will all miss her terribly.
Colleen was a social animal who talked to everyone. Anyone who sat beside her at a table or waited in front of her in a line would have undoubtedly made her acquaintance and exchanged stories. When physically capable, she travelled extensively and chased adventure wherever she could find it. She treasured sunsets over the lake and quiet evenings around a fire. She had a sweet tooth and did not discriminate when it came to desserts. She loved them all! She enjoyed and consumed all forms of art and shared her passions with everyone she knew.
The family thanks her extensive medical team for their dedication and perseverance, and everyone who has donated blood that was so crucial to extending her time with us.
It is cruel that we cannot have a fitting celebration of her life at this time because of the pandemic. The family will hold a private service on Friday, March 12th, 2021 at 11am . For anyone wanting to attend the service virtually, please use this link: Colleen Meloche Service Livestream
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Canadian Blood Services.
