Obituary for David Greene

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dave Greene announce his sudden passing on January 27, 2020 at the age of 59.
He was the beloved soul mate of Wendy Hanna and loving father of Krista Keith (Anthony) and Dylan. Much loved and adored brother of Angela Tarasco (Mike), Mary-Kaye Bagshaw (Scott) and Michelle Howell (Russell Bell).
Loved uncle of John (Kate), Chris (Emma), Greg (Courtney), Eric, Vince (Kerian) and Kayla. Great uncle to Ayla. He will be missed by his loyal canine companion Vader and his many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Pre-deceased by his parents David Greene, Margaret Gallery and his stepmother Lucille Cote.
Dave had a love for hockey. He played AAA in his youth. As a matter of fact, he was the “Great One’s” number 1 fan. Being an Ottawan, his loyalty was to the Sens. Go Sens Go! Like his father and son, he loved the NFL, “Let’s Go Pats!”
He had a love for dogs – in particular, German Shepherds. Each of his loyal canine companions were cleverly named after a Star Wars Character. “May The Force Be With You!”, he used to say.
Dave worked in the car industry all his life. He was a car enthusiast and he loved muscle cars. He was an executive member of the Hwy 43 Car Club and would frequent and show his car in the local car shows.
He was passionate about politics and all things political. “You People” know what I mean!
Dave was the guy that you knew was in the room. He was the guy to give you the shirt off his back and a gentle shoulder to cry on.
Dave was proud Canadian through and through. He was a supporter of our veterans and military. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 212, 100 Reuben Crescent Kemptville, Ontario K0G 1J0 on Sunday February 9, 2020 from 1-5 pm.
