With sadness, the family of David Moffatt announces his passing on February 14, 2020. Dave, a retired Captain of the Ottawa Fire Department, passed away suddenly while enjoying an evening out with his wife of 58 years, Margaret (nee Murphy) and close friends in celebration of his 81st Birthday. Survived by his daughter, Kim (Mike Shelp) and his son, Michael (Donna Naufal). David was also the fun-loving Poppa to his grandson, Jacob. Beloved son of Robert Moffatt and Gertrude Sharkey. Dave is predeceased by brothers Andrew and Daniel. Dave was a man who always enjoyed a good laugh in the company of good friends, and that is exactly how he lived his life to the end.

A reception will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor Street), Ottawa, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

His family invites anyone who knew Dave to drop in to share a story or two. In memory of Dave, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (www.ottawaheart.ca) or to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) would be appreciated.
