Condolence: Dear Joyce and family,

On behalf of the Historical Society of Ottawa, I would like to express our sincerest condolences on the loss of your husband, father, and our friend. Among Don’s countless contributions as a Director of our Society, most notable was his and Joyce’s sorting, cataloging, and management of the transfer and sale of some 4,000 military badges in 2011 – which is still among the most important projects in recent HSO history. We are grateful for his participation in our Society, were enriched by his involvement, and will miss him.

With kindest regards,

Karen Lynn Ouellette
HSO President

Condolence: My wife and I have known Don and Joyce since they joined St. Aidan's many years ago and participated in many church activities together. Don made an excellent, majestic, Red King in our Christmas Pageant which I directed. Don was an ardent supporter of many activities at St. Aidan's including BAC, bazaars, dinner-dances, breakfasts, committees, church repairs etc. His cottage at Johnson Lake is only a few kilometers from our cottage on Grey's Lake (Mecham Lake) and we often met at the store or hotel in Ladysmith.

We will miss you, Don.

Condolence: My dearest Joyce and Family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of Don’s death.
I will miss seeing Don at the 8 a.m. Sunday service at St. Aidan’s. He was a wonderful husband and father.
Don was always welcoming to our bridge group when we played at their house.
He was such a caring friend who we will miss very much.
Love,
Lillian

Condolence: I joined St. Aidans about 1973 and got to know Don and Joyce quite well over the years. Don was a pillar of the church and the BAC, and was a man of God and a real gentleman. He will be missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing to you.

Condolence: Joyce and family
I enjoyed knowing Don for several years as a member of the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen. When you later joined our monthly luncheons as did my wife Roslyn we both had the pleasure of knowing both of you. Now Roslyn and I join in sending our condolences for your loss. He was quite a man.

Condolence: I joined the OMMC in 1884 and first met Don there. Over the yeas he was a great help to us. He always had time was approachable , helpful and supportive in many ways. While our paths have not crossed for a few years he is very fondly remembered. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to have had him in their circles.
