Obituary for Dorothy Margaret Ellacott (Arbuckle)
Dear wife of the late Herb Ellacott. Dorothy passed peacefully in her 102nd year. She was the cherished and loving Mom of Susan, and James (Lisette).
Dorothy was born and raised in Richmond, Ontario, daughter of Frank and Blanche Arbuckle. She was predeceased by sister Helena (Mains) and brother Garnet. Dear aunt to Carol, Cathy, David, Jeff, and John and was also dear aunt to many great nieces and nephews..
Dorothy truly enjoyed family life with Herb and the children in Ottawa. Throughout her life she had a deep compassion for animals. She was a wonderful cook and loved to invite family and friends to their home, hosting annual Grey Cup parties, numerous card parties and wonderful Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving dinners. At the age of 80 Mom announced she had cooked her last turkey dinner and turned it over to her children. Herb and Dorothy enjoyed travelling to sunny destinations in the winter, and summers were spent enjoying life in their lovely backyard.
The Funeral will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm, McGarry Funeral homes, Central Chapel, 315 McLeod Street.
