Obituary for Eleanor Craik Rupert (Walker)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Craik Rupert in her 97th year. Loving wife of 65 years to Keith (deceased) and devoted mother to daughters, Claudia (John), Leslie (Stephen) and Linda (Paul). Much loved Granny to Iain (Meeka), Aindrea (Jeremy), Meghan (Tomi), Matthew (Alexandra), Scott, Andrew and Great-Granny to Brett, Sophia, Rosemary, Rocco, Dylan and Elly. Predeceased by parents Alexander and Penelope Walker, and siblings Alexander, Donald, Ida, Ian and George, survived by sister Jean.

Eleanor was born in Portsoy, Scotland and made her first voyage to Canada with her family as an infant. After several years and two more voyages to Scotland and back the family settled in Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario. Eleanor married Keith in 1947 and raised their daughters in Ottawa. Many lifelong friends were made through various activities, St Matthew's Anglican Church, summers in Norway Bay, Highland Dancing Association and her bridge clubs.

The family wishes to thank staff at the Lord Lansdowne Retirement Residence for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Those wishing may make donations to a charity of choice.
