Sad to learn this morning that your Mother has passed on. No matter the age always hard to say goodbye. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you. You offered your Mother a lot of time and attention these past months in particular and, as a Mother, I can say with some confidence, you brought her a lot of comfort and love. Big hugs to you and the family.

Condolence: I was very sorry to hear of Ebess’s passing.

It was a shock as she seemed able to defy death and I was beginning to think that she might be immortal!

What an amazing age 103 is. So much to celebrate, but also a very sad and difficult time.

My deepest condolences for your loss, my thoughts are with you.

Condolence: My sympathy to daughter Susan and all the Hill family on the loss of this amazing woman that I heard about over the years at Jack Purcell art group. Elizabeth Hill is forever a part of Old Ottawa East history and an inspiration to all who crossed her path.

Condolence From: Dianne Markle (nee Wilson)
Condolence: I was born and raised in old Ottawa East, through the stone gates on Main St. on a street off Marlowe Cr. After completing Brownies, I "flew up" to Mrs. Hill's Guide Company in 1962, I think. Although I don't remember a great number of details about my Guiding experience with Mrs. Hill, I remember her very well as a wonderful leader and a very warm, kind person. I think Nancy was in the Guide Company at the same time as me. I was at the house on Main St. a number of times. In the spring of 1963 my family moved to Alta Vista, and Mrs. Hill went to the trouble of finding a Guide Company in Alta Vista for me to join, and made sure that my mother and me met the Guide leader so that I would feel comfortable going to the new group. Mrs. Hill's kindness on my behalf was very much appreciated. I also had to change schools at the same time, and some of the Guides in the new group went to school with me, so joining the Guide Company helped with that transition. The new Guide leader was also a wonderful person and I went on to Rangers and she became my Ranger leader. For two summers I worked at Camp Woolsey and for two summers while in university I worked at the provincial Guide camp, Doe Lake. Guiding was quite an important part of my life, and even though I only knew Mrs. Hill for two years, I have never forgotten her - such was the impression she made on me.

My sincere condolences to all of her family members on your loss.
