Obituary for Ephraim Arnon

Peacefully at the General Hospital, Ottawa, on March 9, 2022, with his family at his side.

Born in Baghdad on April 15, 1928, Ephraim and his family were part of the mass exodus of Jewish refugees from Iraq to Israel in 1950. Ten years later, he married his sweetheart, Miriam, and together they raised two children, Iris and Ilan.

Ephraim lived his life with curiosity and adventure. In 1965, he and his young family emigrated to Ottawa. He spent a long, fulfilling career at Nortel where he  earned eight patents in his name. During his time there and into retirement, Ephraim enjoyed classical music, cross-country-skiing, cycling and most of all, his loved ones.

Ephraim leaves his wife of 61 years, Miriam, daughter Iris (Andrew), son Ilan, grandchildren Jordan, Noam and Maya, his brother, Avraham, and sister, Ada.

May his memory be a blessing.
