On February 5th, 2023, a light in our world faded. We are devasted to announce the sudden passing of Espen Kittilsen in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at the age of 48.
There are too many, and not enough words to express how much he will be missed by his wife Kristine Neglia. The greatest of love stories, of soulmates destined to come together in Australia, has now come to an end.
The love for Espen spanned continents. He will be deeply missed by family and friends both in Norway and here in Canada. He was the cherished son of Margit Agnethe and the late Kjell Kittilsen. Little brother to Geir (Heidi), and the greatest of Uncles to Aleksander (Iselin) and Karoline, and Great-Uncle to Olivia and Tomine. Here in Canada, Espen was like a son to Dan and Deb Neglia, a beloved brother to Denis, and an Uncle that Nathan looked up to.
Born in Porsgrunn, Norway, Espen was a proud Norwegian who was also honoured to be sworn in as a Canadian Citizen on November 18, 2022. A Registered Nurse, Espen brought calm and comfort to so many throughout his career. A wanderer at heart, Espen loved to travel and often shared of his adventures across Australia, France, Canada, and more. He loved celebrating with the best of friends in Lifjell, he loved golf, chocolate, cigars, and Formula 1, and no one looked cooler on a motorcycle than Espen.
