COLLINS, Evalyn Louise (nee Roblin)
Evalyn passed away on December 10th, 2020 in her 101st year. She was the daughter of the late Reade and Genevieve Roblin, Adolphustown, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Lt. Col. Kenneth F. Collins. Also predeceased by her son Bruce, daughter Elizabeth and grandson Gabriel Wynne-Jones. Evalyn was a devoted mother to her daughter, Marianne Baird Anderson. She was the proud and loving grandmother and friend to her grandchildren, the Hon. John Baird, Virginia Baird and Joshua (JW-Jones) and Brittany Wynne-Jones. She was the adoring great grandmother of Zachary and Madison Trudeau, Nixon Wynne-Jones and Ava and Olivia Knapp. Her memory will be cherished by her extended family and friends, so many of whom have passed before her including her siblings, Jack (Mildred) Roblin of Adolphustown, Ruth (Sam) Hart of Picton and Bill (Norma) Roblin of Lindsay.
Evalyn was a long time member of Rideau Park United Church and its UCW where she worked tirelessly at bazaars and various fundraisers for over 63 years. For all of her adult life she was an avid bridge player and sports fan.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ruth Farey and all the caring staff at the Maplewood Retirement Community where she had lived for the past five years.
A service will be held later, when we are all able to gather together again. If you wish, a donation to the charity of your choice could be made in Evalyn’s memory.
