It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Hartman (nee MacDonald), 81, of Ottawa, Ontario, on January 9th, 2022. A beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, friend, and confidant, Jane, was born in Renfrew, Ontario on October 20, 1940, the daughter of the late Duncan Keith MacDonald and Jane Isabel MacDonald (née Stewart). Jane is survived by her two sons, David (Bethany) and Ryan (Nancy) Hartman, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Rachael and Nathan, Benjamin and Daniel, and step-grandchildren Daniella and Ari. Jane is predeceased by her two brothers, Sandy (Talia) and Malcolm, and is survived by her five sisters—Elizabeth (Wayne), Nancy, Heather, Kim and Tami, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Fiercely independent and selfless with a kind soul, equipped with an outgoing personality and sharp wit, Jane will be fondly remembered by her loved ones, friends, neighbours, and former colleagues.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, when conditions permit. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting consideration of a donation in the honour and memory of Jane Hartman to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, or to a charity of choice.
