Obituary for Hilary Rita Plaschka (Wallis)

Hilary Plaschka passed peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Saint-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario. Hilary was born and raised in Victoria BC. She was educated in the public school system, while at the same time studying violin with the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Following graduation, she continued her music studies through the Fine Arts program at the University of Victoria. As an accomplished violinist, Hilary enjoyed playing music both professionally and with friends. Her first paid performance was at the young age of 16 at the beautiful Waterton Lakes resort in Alberta. Here she met many other like-minded musicians that she continued to be friends with to this day. Hilary was also a successful music teacher who took great pride in her students, and thought of each pupil as a part of her family.

Hilary may have had some struggles, but continued to live life to the fullest. She very much enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones and would do anything for the people close to her. Our family is grateful to know that Hilary is finally at peace. Hilary is survived by her two daughters Christina and Alexandra Plaschka, her nieces and nephews, and sister Jennifer Wallis. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Rita Wallis. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Saint-Vincent Hospital, as well as the many care services and people that have shown such compassion and support towards Hilary over the years

No service by request. For friends and loved ones wishing to celebrate Hilary’s life, please consider making a memorial donation in her honor to the Victoria Conservatory of Music, or a music program of choice.
