Obituary for Ida Susan Rachel Allison (Swyer)
Passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Ontario on May 13, 2021 at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband George Douglas Allison; parents Frank and Irene (Hulan) Swyer and brother Billy of Newfoundland; sister Dorcas Small and niece Terry Brewer of Maine. Ida is survived by her nieces Trudy, Tiffany and Tracy Breau, and nephews James and Christopher Brewer, all of Maine; many nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia; cousins Nora Balthaser of New Hampshire and Ina Shears and Muriel Chislett of Newfoundland.
The family would like to thank the staff of Osgoode Care Centre, as well as her caregiver Shirley, for their exceptional support and kindness to Ida over the years.
In keeping with Ida’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Family will hold a private funeral service at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry with interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, anyone so wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society or to the research division of the Canadian Cancer Society.
