Obituary for Jacobo Joel "Julio" Fiszman
Fiszman, Jacobo Joel (a.k.a. Julio)
Passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital on March 4, 2021. Julio, in his 92nd year, Loving husband of the late Clara, and father of Sergio, daughter-in-law Viviana, and the late Beatriz. Special Grandpa to Sebastian, Eytan, Alejandro, Andrea, Pablo and Wendy (Pablo’s wife), and Great grandfather to Diego. Julio who was born on July 11, 1929. He was a holocaust survivor, who escaped Nazi persecution from Poland to Argentina together with his late mom, Frida. Even though he studied 3 years of electrical engineering, he made a living and raised a Jewish family as a fashion designer in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was strong-willed and helpful to family and friends. A private graveside service will be held at Jewish Memorial Gardens, Osgoode. A special thanks to the Ottawa Civic Hospital caregiving staff for the wonderful care given to Julio over the past year. Donations to Jewish Community Services or Ottawa Civic Hospital gratefully accepted.
