Obituary for James Leslie Rogers
James (Jim / Buck) Leslie Rogers - July 14, 1930 - March 25, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jim, months short of his 90th birthday.
He will be dearly missed by Ann, his wife for over 60 years and his children Sue (Steve Grice), Bill (Lyn) and Karen. Grandpa will be missed by his four granddaughters who brightened his days – Sarah, Cassidy, Stephanie and Caiti. Jim will also be missed by his sisters Betty (Walter Gustafson), Donna (Lloyd Carlson) and Jean Holmstrom as well as sister-in-law Nelda Rogers and his numerous nieces and nephews that he enjoyed seeing every year. Kenora summers will not be the same with Jim not there. He was predeceased by his mother Maybelle and brother Bill.
Dad spent 30 years with the Canadian Air Force, and then a number of years working with the Bank of Canada. Once retired Jim and Ann enjoyed travelling in Canada and various US states as well as visits to family in Kenora and eventually Alberta.
We all have many memories of his “dad jokes”, his stories about the old days and how he liked to debate with his kids, sisters and other family members – all of which will be missed the next time we get together. Rest in Peace – we are going to miss you so much.
