Obituary for Jody Natasha Lee Hicks (Hicks)

November 9th 1974 to December 7th 2020

It is with great sadness that Mike Mcmeekin and Moo announce the peaceful passing of our very special Angel friend, on Monday, December 7, 2020 . Jody was predeceased by her precious baby, Angel Lyn Faith Hicks, and her brother Cory Hicks. Jody’s parents Wilda, Emmett (Suzanne) are heart broken loosing Jody at such a young age, We will miss your beautiful smile and your laughter, Jody. Jody wrote a poem recently and now it is very appropriate to share what she knew would be her journey.....
"An Angel held me by my hand, and told me to hold on tight. She told me not to be scared, that everything would be alright. She told me it was my time and she would take me home. That God always sent ANGELS, no one goes to heaven alone. We flew through the darkness, until we reached the light. It did not hurt to look at, but it was very, very bright. Then the light did fade, and I stood by heaven’s gate. I must admit I was scared, I did not know my fate. Angels will show the way, they will not forget you. Not here, not now, not ever, for what death takes away. Heaven puts back together. "

Due to covid restrictions at present, we have will have Jody’s cremated remains laid to rest in the spring at a private family Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers a donation to LUNG HEALTH FOUNDATION in memory of Jody for further research of COPD or the Ottawa Heart Institute, would be appreciated by the family.
Special thanks to the remarkable staff in ICU Respirology Unit at the Civic and General hospitals for their tender and compassionate care during COVID.

Sharon McGarry, Mark, and Peter of HPMc supported Jody’s passing with exceptional support and caring for the family. They even gave us a small card to write a special Christmas card to Jody to put on their Christmas tree. How blessed the family feels with such respect of our precious Jody.
LIGHT AND LOVE JODY from Mom, Dad and Suzanne we miss you.
