John Alexander Chambers, 79, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital due to complications from multiple myeloma. John graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. He went on to work in the private sector for companies like Caterpillar and Colgate-Palmolive, but spent the bulk of his career (more than 30 years) in progressively senior roles at the Canada Revenue Agency. In his spare time, he loved working on his model railroad layout and was an active member of the Ottawa Valley Associated Railroaders (OVAR). He also enjoyed summers at the cottage in Lombardy, tinkering on projects in his workshop, and writing on model railroading and other subjects. John was a kind and loving partner to Germaine (née Thériault), his spouse of 48 years, and a devoted father to his son, Mark.

By request, funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Myeloma Canada in John’s memory.
