Obituary for John Krupey

Dr. John Krupey has moved on to the big laboratory in the sky to work with other mad scientists.

On Earth he achieved so much in his 85 years. He grew up on the tough streets of Montreal, the only son of Ukrainian immigrants. He was a self directed over achiever who taught himself multiple instruments while fast tracking to a PhD in Biochemistry at McGill University. In 1968 he co-developed the world’s first cancer test. The CEA test is still in use today and is a vital component in saving countless people every year.
At home, he left the lab behind and was a loving husband to wife Sonia and an unique influence to his two sons, Stephen and Christopher. He provided a home that welcomed a United Nations of cultures and was open to any socioeconomic group.

John was an entertainer who had a passion for flamenco guitar. He always wanted to make sure those around him were always entertained and put a smile on everyone’s face. The house was filled with music and there was amazing energy that was magnetic to all the neighbours.

He could not do this without his wife of 57 years, Sonia. She was his partner in crime and was the perfect compliment to his shenanigans.
Dr. John continued with multiple successes during his career. He holds more than 10 patents in Biochemistry and BioMedical fields.

He is right now in the lab up there playing pranks on the other mad scientists. We are sure the big guy will be putting him in a time out very soon.
