It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. He was the best friend and beloved husband of Anne (Morton). Predeceased by his son, Degory. Dear father of Jason, James, and Thomas. Loving father to Natalie (Raya Mukherjee), Philip (Ramphos), and Stephanie (David Galpern). Cherished grandfather of Olivia Seccombe and adored Grandpa John to Cassidy, Anika and Zachary Mukherjee and Jacob, Samuel and Olivia Galpern. John hailed originally from Toronto and was the eldest of 4 siblings – Patricia (Michael Eby), David (Cathy), and Linda (Bob Sommerville) are left to mourn his passing. John also had a special place in his heart for his brother-in-law in Australia Tony Powell (Caroline) and his family who are sorely missing him. There are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada and internationally who join us all in our grief.
John lived his life with humour, kindness, openness, and a penchant for storytelling. He had the ability to charm anyone and entertain a room like very few could do. The world is a poorer place because of his passing. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will miss him terribly.
