Obituary for
Judith Frances "Judy" McIntosh
Passed away peacefully at the Hospice at Maycourt on April 17, 2020. She is survived by her loving children Kerry Brown (Steve), Jason Brazeau (Heather MacLeod) and her grandchildren Jamie and Alana. Judy practiced nursing for 50 years, taking a hiatus to receive a PhD in Experimental Psychology in 2002. She ministered as a nurse in both hospital and community settings with The Salvation Army and Camp Quality. She practiced her faith at Parkdale United Church, trained diligently with B-Train Swimming, and was a treasured member of the Antiques of Steel, a group formed doing triathlons but forged with the caring and support for each other at which Judy shone. In Judy’s honour, they will run her favourite race, the Santa Shuffle, on December 5, 2020.
The family is grateful for the many messages received during Judy’s last days which conveyed the influence she had on your lives. She heard them all. Her children are also indebted to her loyal friend, Linda Colwell, for her faithful care for Judy over the last two years. Judy brought her strength, good humour, resilience and wise bright wit to everything she did. It’s hard to fully convey the inner light she always projected. Know that the last message she wanted us to share was that she loves every one of you and that you are all special to her. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held in the future.
Donations in her memory can be made to: Ovarian Cancer Canada, The Salvation Army Bethany Hope Centre, Camp Quality Eastern Ontario, Parkdale United Church (Designate the In From the Cold Ministry), The Salvation Army Ottawa or The Hospice at Maycourt.
