On September 23, 2021 Kemuel passed away and rests in Jesus Christ, his Savior. Dear son of the late Pastor Benjamin J. Hivale and Kusumbai Hivale. Kemuel, beloved husband and best friend of Violian Hivale for 65 years. Loving father of Urmila Yvonne Hivale of Ottawa, David Kemuel Hivale of Michigan, USA, Nirmala Merville DeSilva of Florida, USA, and Renuka Camelia Haugen of Michigan, USA (Randy). Beloved Grandpa or Papa to Alexander, Andrea, Philip, Julia, Jason, Janelle, Erin, Kristen, Lauren, Lucas, and Brennan. Loving Great Grandpa to Gaby, Izzy, Nicholas, Andrew, Ava, Payton, Carter, Brock, Chase and Ethan. Dear brother to Grace Yaqub of California, USA and the late Santosh Hivale of India (Rajas), Samuel Hivale of California, USA (Arul), Suprabha Plaha of California, USA and Anandi Mahapure (Manohar Mahapure). Brother-in-law to Janmiet Dkhar of India (Ceyola), and the late Patricia Dkhar of India. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Kemuel entered into the workforce in his early twenties as a lab technician in Simla, India. He and Violian Dkhar were married in 1956. He went on to function as a physician's assistant for the next 10 years. In 1967, he immigrated to Ottawa, Canada and began his studies to upgrade his Canadian licensing as a Medical Technologist at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital. He continued his professional career until the age of 55 when he retired in 1984. He was recognized throughout his professional career as an excellent phlebotomist, diligent worker, and possessed superior diagnostic skills. In his retirement he had successes as an entrepreneur and travelled extensively with his wife and family visiting relatives and friends across the globe. Kemuel will be remembered for his devotion to God, love for his family, and a passion for life. He was influential in blessing and changing many lives. He will be dearly missed by us and we look forward to meeting again. Friends may gather at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Friday October 1, 2021 from 2pm until time of service in the chapel at 3pm. Attendance for the visitation and the service is limited and guests must register using the link provided on this site below the notice. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army gratefully accepted.
