November 19 1934-November 28 2019
Ken passed into the arms of Our Lord after an 11 year struggle with Lewy Body Dementia and complications.
Our beloved Ken will be greatly missed by his wife Mary (OConnor), his children, Ken Jr (Elena), Cathy (Robert), Mark, Kevin (Nadia), Philip (Tanya) and his granddaughter Katarina.
He will also be missed by his stepson, William and step granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel.
Ken was predeceased by his much loved first wife, Rose (Coules) and siblings Gilbert, Leonard, and Florence.
He is survived by his brother Tony. Ken was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
As a young man, Ken embarked on a career in logging. Years later his expertise in forestry took his career in the direction of mapping and aerial photography. He was an avid fisherman and talented artist.
A gifted handy man, Ken’s final working days were spent taking care of the maintenance of his church.
Ken was faithful to the Lord. He completely surrendered and trusted himself to His Divine Mercy
His gentle and peaceful demeanour will be missed. His smile will be especially missed.
Heartfelt thanks to his past home support workers, Villa Marconi for their care over the past years and Elizabeth Bruyere for their support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia/Alzheimer’s Society of Canada and Companions of the Cross Ottawa
Friends are invited to the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond) on Monday December 2, 2019 from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Church, 100 Young Street, Ottawa on Tuesday December 3, 2019 at 11am.

A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the Oak Tree's leaves away.
Then snapped its boughs
and pulled its bark
until the Oak was tired and stark.

But still the Oak Tree held its ground
while other trees fell all around.
The weary wind gave up and spoke,
"How can you still be standing Oak?"

The Oak Tree said, I know that you
can break each branch of mine in two,
carry every leaf away,
shake my limbs and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,
growing stronger since my birth.
You'll never touch them, for you see
they are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn't sure
of just how much I could endure.
But now I've found with thanks to you,
I'm stronger than I ever knew.

Uncle Ken
"That we once enjoyed and deeply loved
we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply
becomes part of us. (ref: H Keller)
...Uncle Ken you were my "God Father"
and I am grateful for much.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, and may they rest in peace. Amen.
